Weaknecht Announces $1.75 Million in State Grants for South Heidelberg Township Projects

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Eric Weaknecht (R-Berks) today announced that two projects in the 5th District have been awarded a combined $1.75 million through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

RACP grants support the design and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

“The projects funded through these grants will aid in the improvement of our district. The investment being made in the South Heidelberg Township not only benefits the organizations receiving the grant, but the public who uses their services,” Weaknecht said. 
The following projects were approved during the funding round:

F.M. Brown’s Sons Inc. - Next Gen Distribution Hub: $750,000.

Funding for the distribution hub will support construction of a new tilt-up concrete warehouse. The project includes full site development, foundations, utility connections, loading docks, parking areas and other associated infrastructure.

South Heidelberg Township Municipal Complex: $1,000,000.

Funding for the municipal complex will support interior and exterior upgrades to the existing building. These upgrades include a new exterior entrance for the police department, new patrol vehicle parking lot, new police department office, new public entrance, public parking improvements and renovations to the administrative areas.
